Our Story

Hello! We’re Josh and Clare, the minds behind Scandalous Hunts. Thanks for taking the time to read a bit more about our story.

Scandalous Hunts began as a distraction while we lived through a family health nightmare. Josh’s father, Eugen, was diagnosed with a glioblastoma (brain tumour) in May 2022. Sadly the situation became even more complicated when Eugen suffered a stroke the morning after his brain surgery.

The months that followed were dark and humourless as the family supported Eugen through the early days of his recovery in a foreign city. We would often pass the time during trips to the hospital by discussing the latest political scandals. The never-ending political scandals. We threw our spare time into brainstorming ideas for different scenes and found an artist, Jez, who perfectly captured our thoughts. And just like that, Scandalous Hunts was born.

Eugen was very interested in current affairs and politics too, so he was always keen to hear about our latest scenes. The one benefit of the non-stop scandal cycle is that we have plenty of material for future scenes. In fact we could barely keep up with the scandals for the scenes we already have… the number of times we took a finished scene and made a late addition to nod to a new scandal is concerning!

Glioblastoma is one of the most aggressive forms of cancer that a person can get. We want something positive to come from our experience, which is why we are donating all of the profits from Scandalous Hunts to Brain Tumour Research who's Vision is to find a cure for all types of brain tumours, and mission is to increase the UK investment in brain tumour research.

If you enjoyed Scandalous Hunts please share it with your friends and family – help us honour Eugen's memory by raising funds for this great cause.

This project brought us many laughs during a dark time - we hope it makes you laugh too!

Thanks for joining our journey,

Josh and Clare

About Our Chosen Charity

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease.
Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this!

They are the only national charity in the UK focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours through campaigning to increase the national investment in brain tumour research to £35 million per year, while fundraising to create a network of seven sustainable Brain Tumour Research Centres of Excellence across the UK. Help support their important research today.
